While recording myself hiking a trail in search of a good trout hole in Lost Lake, OR, I had a rather startling experience. The lake visibility was horrible & it was around 6:30PM PST. No one was on the trail because the fire was so bad / it was hard to breath. I had this trip planned a year in advance & when I saw how bad the conditions were, I decided to push through it.
At first, I thought it was a bear or another large animal, seeing as the fire burning to the West was most likely pushing game in my direction. Then, whatever it was began to throw rocks in my direction. Big rocks. The footage is decent & I scored / created all the music because I like making music & wanted to put my artsy touch on it, but at the end of the day the entire encounter was real (regardless of the cinematic touches).
One thing I’ll note that the video did NOT capture well was how many rocks were being thrown & how much of the canopy was moving. What every it(they) was/were was moving towards be quick enough to concern me & forced me to hightail it out of there. I honestly was mostly concerned it was a bear at first but when I started to hear the rocks hitting the trees it was obvious that it was something else.
I would love it if viewers could help me figure out/debunk what I experienced on August 31st 2023. I’ve heard reports of Sasquatch encounters involving rock throwing. Keep in mind I am miles and miles in the Oregon woods, deep in what is considered Sasquatch country.
