Name of nearest TOWN: Harlan County Kentucky Name of nearest ROAD: 119 Weather CONDITIONS: Cool fall night The ENCOUNTER:

My friends and I went fishing one night behind a Dairy Queen when you come off 119 into Harlan. They’s real good fishing there and we was big into fishing at that time. I had just got back from a tour in Iraq and spent a lot of time fishing at night a lot of times all night during those days. My buddy was taking chicken liver and putting it on a stick and cooking it over the fire and eating it while we were fishing. lol not sure if that brought it in or not lol. But all the sudden we started hearing splashes and we thought it might be Beavers smacking their tails on the water. That was what came to mind. It mad us mad because we figured it was gonna scare off the fish. Well theirs a over pass near by and we happened to see a car going by and the angle of it we got a glimps of rocks coming off the side of the hill there coming at us some guy next to us some hit the water and they was all huge rocks like softball size or bigger. You could tell they wasn’t trying to hit us but also knew whoever was throwing them had to be strong due to the distance and size of the rocks. We started throwing unopened pop cans back in that direction because now we thought it was ppp messing with us. Fear came over me and my gut said I need to leave and when my gut tells me it’s time to go, I go lol. It didn’t take us long at all to get out of there cause we never camped in tents or anything we just slept on the ground by the fire anytime we went camping. So we just grabbed our poles and left. As we where leaving we heard limbs break in the weeds where the rocks was coming from and at that time we was up by the over pass and they was a cop coming by and he stopped us and we told him what was going on and he drove up and down that area with his spot light on his car shining it ever where and never found anyone so we just left. Never seen it but whatever was throwing those rocks had to be massive. Maybe a shot putter lol
