Name of nearest TOWN: Rutland Name of nearest ROAD: Route 56 Weather CONDITIONS: Clear evening, no wind, typical Autumn night. The ENCOUNTER:

To be up front this was a vocalization not an eye witness sighting. I was out in my woods (6.4 acres in central MA) burning a fire in my back fire pit. My fire pit is close to my rear property line. Either on or somewhere beyond the property behind me I heard a “whoop” call three times that I had never heard before. It started loud and had a long build up. It kept going higher in pitch as it went until it ended. Something like “whoooooooOOOOOOP”! I racked my brain trying to think what it could possibly be. I spent days on the internet trying to find the animal call that matched what I heard. I never found it. What I heard wasn’t an animal. One night on YouTube I came across a Bigfoot video and sure enough I heard the exact same call.

But it doesn’t end there. When this happened I told one of my camping and ATV buddies about it. A year passed. We were camping on his dad’s 40+ acre property in Hubbardston when we heard the exact same call at night. I told him, “That’s the exact same call I heard”. His eyes got really big. I assured him we were fine just keep the fire going. We survived the night. I’m convinced this was the same Bigfoot I had heard before. I’m also convinced this is a mating call. This was a young male searching for a mate.
